How does matching work?
You see nearby profiles one at a time and swipe: like or pass. When two people like each other, it's a match and a conversation opens. Nobody can see your likes — not the person you liked, not you. A like only surfaces when it's mutual.
On a new match the thread waits on him: he speaks first, by text or by voice. She never has to open with "hey".
Why can't men upload photos?
Because that's the app. Her profile is photos and nothing else; his is voice and words and no photos at all. Each side is judged on something different, and neither side gets to do both.
It isn't a punishment. It's a filter on a different axis: sixty seconds of someone's actual voice tells you more than six pictures of them at a wedding. Men pick an animal avatar instead of a photograph, and every voice note ships with a transcript, so his profile reads as well as it plays.
How do I report or block someone?
Report is two taps from any profile or any conversation. Pick a reason, add detail if you want to, send. A person reads every report — we aim to act within 24 hours.
Blocking is in the same menu. It works in both directions and it is permanent: they leave your deck, you leave theirs, and they are never told it happened.
Are my photos and voice notes public?
No. Media is stored privately and served through short-lived signed links — there is no public URL for your photos or recordings, and no way to browse Uneven without an account. Photos are screened automatically before anyone else can see them.
Does the app know where I live?
No. Your device converts your location into a geohash cell — a box roughly 5 km across — before anything leaves your phone, and only that cell is stored. We hold no latitude and longitude anywhere, so the closest anyone can get is "somewhere in that box".
What about refunds?
Not applicable. Uneven is free at launch: no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, nothing to refund. If that changes, the pricing and refund terms will be published before anything goes on sale, and store purchases would also follow Apple's or Google's own refund rules.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: You → Delete account. Without the app installed: email privacy@unevenapp.com. Full detail of what is deleted and when is on the account deletion page.
I was removed and I think it was a mistake.
Email support@unevenapp.com and a person will look at it again. Automated screening can take content out of circulation, but a human decides what happens to an account.
